Shire of Koorda

Picture

The town of Koorda is located North East of Perth in the Central Wheatbelt of Western Australia. With a Shire population of approximately 450 people, the town is based around a farming community. With a dedication to wheat, canola, course grains and sheep farming there is always something happening around the town.

Koorda is part of the 4 day self drive trail the "Wheatbelt Way' , a trail designed for tourists and locals to drive through the towns of the Wheatbelt and stop at local tourist attractions. There are many scenic areas to stop during your travels close to Koorda. Mollerin Rock, Newlcarlbeon and Badgerin Rock are popular spots to enjoy the wildflowers during the season, bird watching and enjoying the country scenery.

Koorda has many attractions to see, such as the Hospital Museum, set up from before World War II with historic hospital equipment and tools, the Koorda Motor and Military Museum with antique military collections and vintage cars to browse through. We hold an annual Koorda Agricultural Show with sheep shearing competitions, rides, attractions for the kids, stalls, fireworks live bands and much much more!
